Based on camera technology and ground sensors

Smart-parking uses digital technologies (IoT sensors and 4G cameras) to monitor one or more parking spaces or public car parks in a town, in order to manage footfall, average parking time in blue or white zones, or even to direct the rounds of the municipal police. Highly developed in Belgium with CommuniThings, a subsidiary of Orange Belgium, these solutions called SmartParking are arriving in France at the CAPA Ville d'Ajaccio - Cità d'Aiacciu, and more recently in Tarare in the Rhône region.

In Tarare and Ajaccio, the introduction of an intelligent parking system with Orange promises to improve retail appeal, facilitated by the increased availability of parking spaces in the town centre.
