Fiware Win

CommuniThings Air-Quality project, “Sense and the City” was awarded by “FIWARE – Frontier Cities” accelerator program.

CommuniThings “Sense and The City” is an IoT-platform affixed to city fleet vehicles, collecting air pollution levels daily in each street, and disseminating the data to cities and residents.  Colourful “down to the street” heat-maps,  combined with health-impact recommendations, allow cities to develop and assess the effect of mobility plans.

The project was selected by “Frontier Cities” ( www.fi-frontierCities.eu  ) accelerator program, promoting Smart City mobility projects on FIWARE ( www.fiware.org ), the EU backed IoT SW enablement platform.

The project took place at the heart of Europe, in Brussels.

The project Sense and the City has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration through the frontierCities accelerator programme (grant agreement no. 632853) underthe sub-grant agreement no. 005
